Caged Bird

Good morning everyone, hope you are having a wonderful day!  I would like to share a project with you using SNS products and Want 2 Scrap chipboard.

Caged Bird

To start my card I created my background using embossing pasteUltramarine Blue Color Burst, a  Prima stencil and Sparkling Snow glitter.

prep

I placed a small amount of embossing paste onto my craft mat and tapped a small amount of powder into the paste and mixed well.  The stencil was placed on top of a piece of watercolor paper and the embossing paste was applied on top.  The stencil was removed and I had a beautiful background layer.

Caged Bird

While the paste was still wet I lightly dusted the entire piece with Sparkling Snow glitter for a pretty sparkle.
The bird cage was die cut using Tim Holtz's Caged Bird die and embossed using Vintage EP.  This step was repeated twice.

Caged Bird

The small bird was covered with versamark and embossed with Skylight EP.  I decided that I need a bit more color on the bird so I re inked the tail with versamark and embossed with Flashy Flamingo EP, which gave it a pretty sparkle.

Caged Bird

I re inked the bottom of the bird's belly and embossed using Daffodil EP.

Caged Bird

To add the spots I placed a few piece of the Super Thick White EP and heated from underneath.

Caged Bird

The small Hydrangea was die cut using Spellbinder's die.  The flowers were inked on the edges and a small dot of Green Apple Crystal Drops were placed in the middle.  Two larger dots were placed on the bird cage using Green Apple and Bubblegum Blush Crystal Drops.

Caged Bird

Small leaves were added to the top of the cage using Sizzix Branches and Leaves die.
Thanks so much for stopping by, have a great day and remember....Keep Stamping!

Wonder who the Mystery Host will be this month????

I have had so much fun with this challenge, I love getting surprises and my bag was full of great surprises!!  This is what I came up with using the Cherry Blossom stencil, embossing paste, glitter, svg files and the Fan Geisha stamp set.

To start my card I decided on a swing card, tutorial on how to make found HERE.

For the front of the card, I used the Cherry Blossom stencil with Dreamweaver Pearlescent Embossing Paste.  I decided that I wanted the paste a pale pink color, so I used a small amount of pink gelatos and mixed it with the paste. While the paste was wet I lightly dusted with Sparkling Snow glitter for that bit of sparkle.  Next the center panel was embossed using Anna Griffin embossing folder.   Silver sparkle was added around the panel using a glue pen and Reflection glitter.

The fan was cut from a svg file using the Silhouette.  I placed strips of 1/4" Tear-ific Tape on the back of the fan openings and glittered using, Peruvian LilyFlirt and ParisianMist glitter.  A small gold bead was placed on the handle.

A small flower and leaves were die cut and inked with distress inks.  For a little sparkle on the flower I used a paint brush, brushable glue and Sparkling Snow glitter.  A small pearl was placed in the center.

A look at the card from the other side.

The image was colored using copic markers.  The sparkle was added using a glue pen, Daisy, Spirited Green and Champagne glitter.  Using a glue pen along with Sparkling Snow sparkle was added to the edges of the image panel.

The sentiment was stamped with versamark and embossed using Black Detail EP.

One last look at the card opened to the back panel.

I'm leaving you with a peek of the other 3 projects of mine using the goodies in our surprise bag.  Hope you will check back to see the reveal of them.

California Dreamin'

Good afternoon everyone, hope you had a wonderful weekend!!  Today I'm sharing a card that I did for Sparkle N Sprinkle's Sept Reveal, all about the beach!!

My card base is a simple stepper card

Simple Stepper Card Tutorial
This easy technique can be applied to make a card any width. The complete card shown above was made from a 5" wide card base.  You can find details Here on how to create this design.

I started my card by stamping images from 3 different stamp set Surf's Up, Tropical and Surfin Woody stamp set.  The images were colored with copic markers and fussy cut out.  The waves were cut using my Sihouette on white cardstock.  I applied Ultramarine Blue Color Burst and misted with water to create the blue on the top wave.  Using a glue pen to the edges of both waves I added sparkle using Sparkling Snow glitter.

Once the fence was colored and cut out, Florida Beach and Spirited Green was applied using a glue pen.  2 strips of Tear-ific Tape were used on the front panel, 1/2" piece was placed at the top and glittered using Waterfall glitter.  A 3/4" piece was placed next and glittered using Celestial glitter, the fence was then placed on top using pop dots.

The sun rays were created using Tim Holtz's Sun Rays stencil with embossing paste.  I took a small amount of Metallic Melon gelato and mixed it with the embossing paste, them covered the stencil with it.  While the paste was still wet I lightly dusted with Sparkling Snow.  When the paste was completely dry I sponged the bottom area using the same Melon gelato.  A small piece of cardstock was torn, inked with versamark and embossed using Hit the Beach EP.  The piece was then inked again with versamark and a small amount of Magic Speckle EP was applied and heat set.  The edges were then inked with brown ink.

The background paper that the surf boards were stamped on was made using Pthalo Green, Lemon Yellow, Violet, Ultramarine Blue Color Burst.  I applied a small amount of each color onto watercolor paper and misted with water.  The colors really turned out so pretty.  The boards were stamped and fussy cut once the paper had dried.

The sentiment was stamped with versamark and embossed using Sapphire EP.

Thanks so much for stopping by, have a wonderful evening and remember.....Keep Stamping!!

Hope you all have had a wonderful summer!!  I enjoyed 2 weeks with my grandchildren visiting Disneyland and beach fun on the beautiful California beaches!!  Love this month's reveal using all the fun beach stamp sets!  On my layout I used the Tropical stamp set along with Camera Life and Flourishes #2.

To start creating my background paper I used a 12 x 12 piece of watercolor paper that was trimmed to 11 x 11.  The flourishes were stamped with versamark and embossed with White EP.  The next step was to add color, that was done using Ultramarine Blue and Violet Color Burst.  Small amount of powder was sprinkled all over the paper and misted with water.  The colors just came to life and created the perfect background.  Next I used a Tim Holtz's stencil along with white embossing paste randomly around the page.  Once dry the larger dots were created with a second stencil, embossing paste and Ocean glitter.

The next step was to create my embellishments for my layout.  I started stamping my sea shells with versamark and embossed with Glitzy Gold and Hit the Beach EP.  Color was added using copic markers.  The shells were then fussy cut out, and small dots of liquid glass was added to them.

Using my Silhouette the other chipboard embellishments were cut.
The title was stamped using a stamp from the Camera Life stamp set.  Versamark ink was used to stamp the title and it was embossed with Sapphire EP

Small sea shells were added to the layout along with cheese cloth.  Once the elements were on the page small amount of gesso was added to give a distressed look.

The larger chipboard flourish was covered with gesso and a bit of sparkle was added by apply Sparkling Snow glitter while the gesso was still wet.

Sparkle was also added to the sea shells using a small brush, brushable glue and Sparkling Snow glitter.

Pearls were added for a little extra bling.
The layout was then glued to a 12 x 12 piece of white cardstock.  The edges were distressed and inked with Brilliance Coffee Bean ink.

I hope you have enjoyed my layout, the next stop on our blog hop is Shona

Have fun and enjoy all the beautiful project our talented designers have created.  Good luck to you all!!

A little sneak peek of more beach project to come!!  Hope you will come back to see the reveal!!

Give A Girl The Right Shoes

Good morning everyone, hope you are having a good start to your day!!  I would like to share my layout using the newly released Ballet stamp set.  In this layout the sentiment is the only stamp used, and it fits this layout perfectly. These sweet little feet are my precious granddaughter's!

The cardstock was prepped using gesso.  Once the gesso was dry I placed a stencil on top of the  layout and applied  Dreamweaver Embossing paste.  Once the stencil was removed a light dusting of Sparkling Snow was applied for a bit of sparkle.  I repeated the stenciling using a different stencil with Memento Sweet Plum ink.  Dimensional Glue was applied to the inked stencil randomly and micro beads were added. Color was added to the background with small pieces of gelatos mixed with water and lightly misted around the page.

Chipboard Dolly was inked using versamark and embossed  using Velvet Sparkle EP.  Strips of cardstock were embossed, stenciled and layered behind the photo.  A small journaling tag was cut and embossed.  The star frame was cut using my Silhouette.  It was inked with versamark and embossed with Tinsel EP.  Sparkle was added to the shoes using a glue pen and Sparkling Snow glitter.

The Ornamental Tag One from Spellbinders was die cut and the sentiment stamped using versamark and embossed with Black Detail EP.  I took a glue pen to the swirls and flower and glittered them with Orchid glitter.  Liquid Pearl White Opal was added to the center of the flower.

The orchids were die cut using Spellbinder Die D-Lites Orchid.  Color was added to the centers using copic markers.  Lavender Iris glitter was added to the edges with a brush and Brushable Glue.

Easter Fun!

Good morning everyone, for the month of May reveal at Sparkle N Sprinkle the designers were asked to use Dreamweaver Stencils and different techniques on our projects. I would like to share my layout using Dreamweaver's Corner Flowers stencil with embossing paste and glitter.

To start my layout I placed the stencil in the bottom and top corners and covered it using Dreamweaver's White Embossing Paste.

The stencil was them removed and glitter was applied to the flowers using Spirited Green, Waterfall, Daisy, Bubblegum and Purple Dust.   Here is a tutorial on this technique.

Next I placed the stencil onto white cardstock and used a sponge daubers with distress ink on several of the flowers.  They were then fussy cut out and placed under the photo.

Waterfall, Bubblegum and Sparkling Snow glitter was added to the little bunny and eggs using a glue pen.  This bunny was a svg file.  The grass border was die cut and placed under the photo.

Additional stenciling was added using Dreamweaver Pearlescent Embossing Powder and TCW Mini Quatrefoil stencil.  These were just placed at random on the page.

The title was also a svg file that was cut and glittered using a glue pen and Waterfall, Evening Glow, Bubblegum and Spirited Green glitter.

Thanks so much for stopping by, have a wonderful day!!
