Timeless Tuesday #240 ~ Paper Piecing and A Special Contest!!

Good morning everyone hope your day is starting off great!!!  We are looking forward to a cool front and I just can't wait to open the windows and enjoy some nice cool breeze!!!  It has been hot here in Texas so, some nice cool weather will be most welcomed!!

The Timeless Tuesday Challenge at Flourishes, this week is paper piecing.  This is a fun technique, that I have been wanting to try.  I choose the Poinsettia and Boxwood stamp set, and the sentiment is from Christmas Classic.  All of these stamps can be found at Flourishes.  I used paper from the Bo Bunny Rejoice Collections.  I stamped the images on 3 different papers, and then started cutting out from 2 of the papers.  You will glue the cut out pieces onto the image and continue until you have covered the entire image.

This is what the image looks like once you have added all the cut pieces!

I used a technique from SNS called Lacey Background, the result are just stunning.  I used Fire Engine Red Glitter and Reflection Glitter to create  the background. Make sure to view the tutorial it is really a pretty addition to any project!!  Photos do not show the true sparkle of the background.  Hope you can see how much sparkle there is!

To give the petals of the Poinsettia some sparkle I used Stardust Stickles. You can never how to much "Sparkle"

This was a very interesting challenge and gave me a new technique I know I will use often.

For the sentiment I used the Sizzix Funky Labels, using the largest and the next size.  I layered them together and cut them out.  Using glue I added sparkle to the smaller label.

There will be a "Special Contest" this week and you could have a chance to be a Guest Designer!!!

The Friends of Flourishes and the Senior Design Team will be voting on their TOP THREE favorite projects once all the entries are in on Monday evening. The designers of those top three projects will be offered three of the four guest designer slots. Then, starting Tuesday October 8th, YOU will get a chance to vote for our PEOPLE’S CHOICE award by voting for your favorite creation! Stay tuned because next Tuesday, we’ll share all the details of how you can cast your vote to help with our Guest Designer line up for December.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and thanks for stopping by! Remember to.....Keep Stamping!!!!

Hugs
Belinda

  2. Belinda, your paper piecing looks beautiful - I can only imagine what it looks like in person! Paper piecing is a technique I forget about every time, and nothing compares to it when a special "feel" to a card is needed. This is truly beautiful - love all the attention to the glitter. Thanks for the close-ups, too, so we can see what you have done! hugs, de
