Country Roads Noon Time Challenge

Today's noon challenge over at Flourishes was all about the country roads.  I choose to use a picture from our 30th anninversary to Lake Tahoe!  It is such a beautiful place.  The snow reminds me of Christmas and since I have been working on this year's Christmas cards I choose to do a Christmas card.  I used the Vintage Postcard set from Flourishes.  I color with copic markers and used chalk to do the shading for the sunrise and sky.  I had seen a card last year using this stamp set, not sure where I saw it, so not sure who to give credit to sorry.  Happy Thursday, hope everyone is having a great day.  Keep stamping!

A Bit of Texture Challenge

The noon time challenge at Flourishes is to use texture.  I choose this card because it is full of texture.  The stamp is Be Stylish from the Rubber Cafe.  I used black flocking embossing powder, ribbons, glitter, and Fisker's scallop punch.  The stamp was colored with Copic markers RV02, RV04, RV06.  I used double sided tape and glitter to create the pink ribbon. The new stamp sets being release over at Flourishes are so pretty.  Can't wait to start ordering.  Be sure to check them out at Flourishes.  Happy stamping!!

Timeless Tuesday #181 - It's a Sketchy Challenge

Hope everyone is having a great week so far.  This week's Timeless Tuesday It's Sketchy Challenge  is to use a sketch to create a card.  I have never used a sketch before so this was a challenge for me, and I really had fun with it.  Here is the sketch that was to be used, and here is the card I came up with!
I used the Howdy Doody paper stack that came with the June 1 2 3 Kit from Flourishes, as well as the embellishment and ribbon.  This was a pretty set, and this is the first time I have used it.  The stamps are from the Butterflies and Blossoms set from Flourishes.  I use copic markers YR02, YR04, YR07, RV02 for the flowers and the top butterfly.  The leaves were colored with G14, G09.  The larger butterfly I used B00, V15, V17 and G14.  This was a fun challenge and I will be looking forward to using more sketches.  Happy stamping all, and thanks for dropping by!!

Happy 5th Birthday Flourishes!!!  I am so glad I found your website about 2 years ago and have fallen in love with all of your stamps!  Your stamp sets are just beautiful and look so pretty on all my cards.  I used your A Guiding Light set on my card and it looks so pretty.  I used my prismacolor pencil and mineral spirit to blend the colors. Happy Happy Birthday Flourishes!  Thanks for all the beautiful products, can't wait to see all the new things coming in.

Poinsettia Christmas Card

I love using the Flourishes stamp sets!  I picked this one up and have just loved using it.  I stamped this one with versamark and then in embossed with gold embossing powder, such a pretty look!  The leaves were stamped and colored with copic markers.  I used the lace and glitter technique to create the background paper.  I saw this last summer in San Diego at the Scrapbook Expo.  It was be shown by the Sparkle and Sprinkle booth.  It is a bit messing but the end results are worth it.  I used red and gold glitter.  All you need is a piece of lace the size of your card front, sticker paper, glitter and a brayer.  You will place the lace on top of the sticky side of the sticker paper and use the darker color glitter first cover the entire sticker paper.  Place a piece of paper on top of the glitter and brayer all over, remove the lace and use the lighter color glitter and repeat the steps.  It really creates a beautiful background.

Timeless Tuesday #180

The challenge today was to case a design team's card, I chose the one here from Christine Okken.  It is such a pretty card.
I decided to use glitter for my background, this was done using lace, glitter and a brayer.  I just love this techinque.  Using sticker paper you put the lace on top of the sticky side and sprinkle with the glitter, place a piece of paper on top of the glitter and brayer on top.  Remove the lace and use the 2nd color of glitter in the same manner.  It makes such a pretty back ground.  I stamped and color my window with copic markers.  I used Fisker's punch to finish my card.  Love the look!
