Life Is Like A Sunflower

Good morning everyone, I would like to share a card with you today using the Sunflower stamp set.  

Ink the sunflower image with versamark and stamp around the background paper.  Cover the stamped images with White EP and heat set.  Then comes the fun part, using Mustard Seed,  Spice Marmalade Distress, and a sponge dauber I inked the around the sunflowers with the lighter ink first.  Contiune blending the inks until you get the look you are going for.  As the ink gets darker the sunflowers really come to life!!

The sentiment was stamped and layered using 1/8" and 1/4" Tear-ific Tape along with Bronze Splendor and Autumn Medley glitter.  A small strip of Mon Ami Gabby Diamond Mesh was added.

The sweet little sunflower peeking over was stamped and colored using copic makers.  The sparkle you see is Bronze Splendor, Spirited Green and Autumn Medley all added using a glue pen.  Fussy cut out and placed above the sentiment using pop dots.

Hope you all have had a great day!!  Just wanted to share my card for the Hope You Can Cling To  challenge at Splitcoaststampers.  Today's challenge was to create your own background paper without using any DP.  Here is a look at my card.

I used my gelli plate, leaves from outside and Tim Holtz's bubble stencil to create my background.  The sunflower images are from SNS Sunflower Stamp Set.  They were colored using copic markers and glittered using Cherry Lemonade, Spirited Green and Bronze Splendor glitter.

 For the braided side, I saw a tutorial this morning on how to create this look and had to try it.  It's really simple and looks so pretty.  You can find the template HERE,

Life Is Like A Sunflower!

Good morning everyone, hope your week has been great!!  I would like to share a layout with you today, that I gave you a sneak peek last week!!  Sparkle N Sprinkle released 6 new stamp set last week and this layout uses the new Sunflower set.

To create the background I used several different stencils with inks and embossing paste.  The Journal Mixed Media and Travel Mixed Media stamp set was also used on the background.

The Sunflowers were stamped with black ink and color with copic markers.  Using a glue pen I added Spirited Green, Daisy and Bronze Splendor glitter to the flowers and leaves.  They were fussy cut out and arranged on the page.  The brick wall was created using a stencil and embossing paste.  The sparkle you see is Sparkling Snow glitter.  I lightly dusted the embossing powder while it was still wet.

The background was stenciled with the Chevron stencil using orange and green ink. 

 

For the butterflies I used the tutorial for Coloring on Glitter you can find the details HERE.  This is such a pretty technique. They were then fussy cut out.  I arrange them on the page and added doodles.
